How to Photograph Your Pet for a Custom Plush or Golf Headcover
A good reference set helps our team understand the details that make your pet recognizable. Use this guide before ordering a custom pet plush or golf headcover. You do not need professional equipment—a phone camera, natural light, and several clear angles are usually enough.
The five-photo starting set
- Front view: photograph your pet at eye level with the face looking toward the camera.
- Left side: include the full side of the face and body if the order includes a full-body plush.
- Right side: show markings that may not appear on the left.
- Back and top: capture the back of the head, ears, neck, and coat pattern.
- Favorite expression or pose: add a photo that shows the expression or posture you would like us to understand.
Use soft, even light
Photograph near a window or outdoors in open shade. Avoid strong backlighting, colored room lighting, heavy shadows, and flash reflections in the eyes. Even light makes coat color, markings, and eye color easier to review.
Keep important features visible
- Move collars, clothing, blankets, or hands away from markings you want reproduced.
- Include close-ups of unusual patches, ear shapes, muzzle color, eye color, scars, or other distinguishing features.
- For long-haired pets, include a photo showing the natural coat length and direction.
- If older photos are the only references available, send the original files whenever possible rather than screenshots from social media.
For a custom golf headcover
Face and head angles are the most important. Include front, three-quarter, and side views, plus clear photos of both ears and the neck coat. If you want a specific expression, identify the photo that should be treated as the main reference. Review the product page for the available club-size options before checkout.
For a custom pet plush
Include full-body views from both sides, the back, the chest, paws, and tail. If you want a particular sitting, standing, or lying pose, provide a clear photo of that pose and explain which details matter most.
Photos to avoid when possible
- Beauty filters, portrait effects, or color-changing filters.
- Very dark, blurry, compressed, or distant photos.
- Images where ears, paws, tail, or key markings are cropped out.
- Only one photo. Several consistent views are more useful than a single perfect portrait.
Quick checklist before you send
- Front, left, right, and back views are included.
- Coat and eye colors look natural.
- Distinctive markings are visible.
- The preferred expression or pose is identified.
- Original, full-resolution files are available.
